Last time I bought a roll new in SD they were $45 a roll and they weigh about 200- pounds - that's if you are talking about the wood slat snow fencing. The shipping will kill you! Your local farm supply place should be able to order for you and they will have it in stock come Fall.

Cool Snow Fence

Here we call them dune control fences and I got two rolls at Lowes. They were about $35 each.

The wooden slat snow fence (4' high) typically comes in 50 foot rolls. Should be able to get it at your local farms supply store, Fleet Farm, Tractor Supply, whatever is in your area.

Maybe $30 or so per 50 ft. roll. The plastic stuff is probably half that price per foot.

Im looking to use it for a corn crib temporily

Yeah, Im thinking the shipping will kill me too, but id like to know how much anyhow. Heck, Ive tried Lowes, Home Depot Atwoods, which is our farm store, 4 of the biggest Tulsa lumber stores, 3 local lumber stores. Remember, this is Okla. They dont see snow much more than 6in. Ive never seen it used here.

Yep,

I remember those snow fence cribs from my younger days. We had one 3 sections high one winter, and had 2" by 12"s on the ground -- made for easier shoveling and we started grinding it for feed right away so the rats didn't get in it too bad.

Shelling corn out of wooden cribs -- I remember the rats comin' out of those.

Anyone remember Daffin mills, usually mounted on a truck? They were portable grinding mills. Then there were those truck mounted MM corn shellers.

Good luck with the search Bill.

Bill, you may very well have to travel to Joplin to find you some. Tractor Supply carried it before and i think Lowes did. I would sure call ahead though to make sure. I just moved from that area to NE OK and was looking for it to do a project and i'm convinced there is none of it in OK..lol!
