[QUOTE=deere-cat]Lisa, what diameter are the tiles that make up your cistern? In my previous post, I envisioned three to four feet, because you mentioned sealing them from the inside in the past. Also, the holding capacity of the cistern wouldn't be very big if they were smaller than three feet in diameter.
You are right. I haven't measured them, but they look to be about 3-4 feet in diameter. Two people could stand in there, but they wouldn't be able to move much. Just about right for one. I am trying to get by for now (I seem to be saying this alot lately ) as cheap as I can, until I go back to work in January. Money is tight, so I am hoping to not have to hire this done. The well is located in the woods by the lake. The roots that are growing in are the "little go everywhere roots". Maybe the branches off of a bigger root? Its like a bundle of them, none being even as big around as a pencil. The area is also hard to get to (can't get thru with the tractor-don't know why these people put it there to start with) I hope in the future to install an extra holding tank using 1 solid peice of culvert with concrete poured in the bottom. I like the idea of the water tank, although I have never heard of any auctions around here. Guess I need to start asking around. Thanks and keep the ideas coming!
