New to the site

HI ALL! I am new to the site and have been lurking for about a week now. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this message board!!! I have been looking for a site like this for awhile now and am so glad someone glad me the link.

I live in upstate NY w/ dh and our 6 children. (14,9,7,6,3 and 7 weeks old) 4 girls and 2 boys. We also homeschool.

We live in an 1860's post and beam house, which we purchased 4 years ago. Since then we have totally gutted the whole upstairs and are working on a room a year. Right now we are re-modeling the downstairs bathroom.

We have 54 acres and currently raise bees, chickens, turkeys and pigs. Our sow just had a litter of 7. We are looking into getting a cow in the spring.

Our garden is quite extensive and we can and freeze quite a bit.

I am very glad to have found a site w/so many people who do the same things!

Looking forward to getting to know you all,
Jenn

Hi there! Your family sounds wonderful. It must be interesting renovating a house that old. Ever find anything fun in the walls? Our house is only about 100-we found old newspaper from 1941 and a few other crazy things... Paula

Welcome Jenn! Your home remodeling plan sounds a lot like ours. We've been here 7 years and have restored/remodeled 6 rooms.

Welcome aboard, Jenn. I must be near you somewhere - I'm located just east of Syracuse. Have you seen the thread on here about the NY forum members gathering at Bowman Lake State Park next weekend? If you're close enough, maybe you could drop in.
