We bought one today!

Its our FIRST 4 wheeler.

Gonna have lots of FUN with it.

Its a Bombadier 400XT (2 seater) RED!
Gotta get a helmet for the Grandkids

Now I hope DH will hurry up and buy another one (for HIM) so we can hit the trails in the County Forest before the snow flies.

Sure he could ride with me----but then I have to listen to his constant critiquing of my driving style!
I'm sure I'll be drivingng too FAST for him.

Hey, I'm 60 years old!
I gotta get GOING to make up for lost time!

Anyway----this is BETTER than getting the Scooter I posted about a few weeks ago!

Congrats! Hope you have a lot of FUN with it. I'm envious, wish I had one to play on too.

Hey great! Have fun and be safe. Stay on the trails and off of private property.

....And get out the flame-proof underwear onaccounta there appears to be alot of anti-ATV sentiment at this forum.

Once you've had it a while, you'll wonder how you ever got along without one.
We use ours for work, fun, or just plain getting around.
I especially like it when the kids are home and we can go riding in the hills.

It has 4 wheel drive and low range but it does NOT have the EXTRA package that inclues the winch, shields over the hand grips, bigger tires, or extra bumper guards.
I would have prefered that package but it was an extra $500 and DH couldn't be convinced

The hand guards will be worth the extra money. Unless you "boldly go where no man has gone before" youll never need the winch although they are handy for doing chores. I have 3 Polaris ATV's and dont know how Id survive without them, especially during hunting season

We have a Honda Rancher and a Honda Foreman. They are both utility ATV's but we still ride them up into the mountains. They saved us for the first three years here till we could get a tractor. Even with the tractor, I don't know what we'd do without them. We've put a water tank on the back of one to water stock in the winter before we had a line to the barn, hauled hay, chased sheep, etc. When my husband's brother came out here from Indiana to go elk hunting, he and his buddies wanted to borrow our ATV's to take back into the mountains, my husband told them to go rent some. We couldn't take a chance on having these damaged. Blood may be thicker than water, but all bets are off when it comes to a man's ATV.
We have a winch for the Foreman which has come in handy a few times, and we have a manure spreader and a few carts that they pull, as well as a plow (pretty much worthless) and a trap pull that hitches to the ATV so we can shoot trap anywhere we want.

We fitted a snowplow onto our ATV and it required a winch to raise and lower the plow. We have used the winch to drag fallen trees off of trails and things like that. The winch is pretty darn useful. You can do a lot with a tow strap hooked to a hitch, too though.

They are tons of fun and real work horses. We use ours to lug square bales, fencing, quick-crete, and all kinds of things.

I been looking for an ATV for several months, but you can't find them very cheap. They seem to hold their value real well.

Yes---we went to a "sheriff's auction" where they sold several re-possessed and other used ATV's-----and we were surprised at the prices they went for.

They were all at the HIGH end of the values listed on Nada.com.............and then there was an additional 10% buyer's fee tacked on!

That's when we decided to go for a new one.

We still hope to pick up another one real soon------just so we can ride independently on trail rides. We will be watching for a decent deal on a used one.

We're hoping they'll go a little cheaper at the next auction-----thinking that more people will be looking at Snowmobiles at that time, rather than an ATV.

I traded my motorcycle for an Artic Cat ATV a couple of months ago and have been pleased with the exchange. We live two miles down a rocky road and that had taken a lot of pleasure out of riding the cycle.

Originally I wanted a small tractor, Ford 8N or 9N, but I figured that I could use the ATV to do most of the things that I wanted a tractor to do. Now I'm looking for a box blade for road work and a bush hog kind of mower. The artic Cat doesn't have a PTO or any hydraulics - I've seen brush mowers that have a gas engine attached - do y'all have any experience with these?
