Farm Prices in America

Here is a link for a chart that shows the average cost per acre by state for farm land. It looks like New Mexico has the cheapest land average at 290 per acre.

Unfortunately, farmland prices are directly tied to the increase in housing demand. What I would like to see is what farmland earns in crop sales in the various states.

Be hard pressed to farm without water though

Just remember those are state averages. Locally in southern MN for example, farm land is double what was listed, if not a bit more in 2005.
