So mad I could scream...

Well my white trash POS neighbors succeeded in killing one of their dogs today. We came home just in time watch them drag it over and throw it in a hole that they dug just for the purpose.

These people have, well HAD, two dogs that they tethered out in their back yard. Once a day they would take out a coffee can full of food and fill up their water and they never so much as give either of them a second look at any other time.

One of the dogs, (the one that died), didn't have much shade as he was on the "sunny side" of the yard. My guess is that one of their incredibly stupid children "forgot" to give the dog water, either that or it just got too hot for him in the sun. Since they totally ignore the dogs all the rest of the time, no telling how long it had been dead since it was might stiff when they burried it.

People who mistreat their animals make me sick. It was a good dog. Loved those people so much that it would bark and cry just for a pat on the head from one of those worthless, good-for-nothing kids. What a terrible way to die. It was less than a year old.

I can only hope that someday maybe one of THEM can feel that kind of miseray and pain before they die.

who wishes there were someone to report them to.

You can report them to the SPCA in your area...Not that it'll do any good. I sincerely believe people like this will get their's at some point. They may not realize why they're getting it but they will. And not only that, but they'll get it 3x too. You can sit back and watch as they destroy themselves. Jerks!

I'll hope that with you, donsgal. Sounds like that poor dog will find a home in heaven before those miserable people ever do.

Well, all I can say is that I wish I had Wind In Her Hair's grace BUT I don't....people like Donsgal's neighbors should be tied to a tree....a very tall one.

Yet I say, report your neighbors to the Humane Society or whoever you can in your area for the sake of the dog that is left

If nothing else, they will come & make a report & interview the owners

Hopefully it'll make them realize someone is watching them

We did this to our neighbors once - I was terrified that they would poison our dog or something, but nothing much came of it, other than their dog was taken inside during the winter (what a concept!)

If they treat animals this way, how do they treat their family members?
Too bad the remaining dog can't escape and reverse the situation(put those
people on a leash in the hot sun, no water) and the dog stay in the house.

I despise people like that!!!!

And what kind of future citizens are they raising?

Imagine being a kid growing up in that environment. What attitudes would you have towards the lives of others?

well, we have a dog chained up to a tree. He can get shade under the tree or under the tractor... we go out and give him fresh water twice a day and make sure he always has food... we check him to make sure he hasnt tangled his chain....

why do we have a dog, if we dont want him anymore than that????

He is a stray that bit our sweet daughter... just nipped and broke the skin... so he is tied up, cared for probobly like people who dont want him.... for 10 days...

I dont know what we will do with him on Aug 3rd.

But someone driving by would probobly say the same things about us....

maybe

They just might be the kind of people who would give ya bloody nose for sticking it where it where it ain't wanted. Also it seems that a lot of people just use this board to pass judgement on their neighbors. have lived in the Ozarks most of my life, it's easy to see why it's going to the dogs..:-}

Gee, my dog never comes inside. Does that make me a bad owner? I drive by my brother's & see that his goats do not have a whole lot when it comes to shade. A small shed he has built. The goats seem well enough so I do not say anything. Mine have access to a huge barn & another shed. That doesn't make him a bad goat owner just because he does not do things the way I do. A lot of people jump to a lot of conclusions without knowing the whole situation. Not saying it is that way in this case, but it happens way too often to suit me. I stopped at a house 2 years ago to pick up a German Shepherd pup. When I got there, the male was loose. The pups were in a small kennel destined to their death because they could not get rid of them. I could tell that they had not been handled a lot because they were not the friendliest of pups. The lady pointed out the mother to me. She was tied to her doghouse & laying out in the sun. It was then I pointed out to the lady that the mother was dead. Looked like a bag of skin & bones laying there. I figured her weight had a lot to do with feeding 7 pups. How they didn't see it I will never know. The lady was very upset when she found out the female was dead. I picked my pup & brought her home. She is a wonderful dog & I wish I would have gotten 2 when I went there that day. Even though the conditions weren't up to my standard.

Double Standard

When you come into Reeds Springs from Springfirld Mo.There were fifty barrels full of fighting cocks one to a barrel. There fate is just as bad does anyone there say anything about that before they head off to Blue Eye for the cock fights. They have there own way and would not take to the Humane Dept. coming around.

I think there is a difference between people who keep 'outdoor' dogs and those who abuse them by not providing adequate shelter, water and food. The two can't be grouped together.

As for not taking care of the 'bigger picture' (people starving, etc), I think that if people can't even take care of their own backyard, it is highly unlikely they are going to take care of of bigger things. There are lots of people who DO try to help with world issues, but there are also people who just look at their neighbour's starving dog and say "not my problem" and walk away, and I would bet that the latter is hardly the type to go on missionary travels to Africa.

Charity (and compassion) begins at home.

White trash? Worthless children? I understand that you are angry, but I could never refer to people in the manner, and find it offensive. (So, sue me.)

Hopefully, you will now make sure the other dog gets some attention, and always has, shade, fresh food, and water. Don't understand what kept you from doing so for the lost dog.

Hugs
