Would you be interested in a natural cure forum?
Is anyone else here interested in seeing if we could have them add a natural cures or home remedies forum? I was thinking that we have gardening and plant propagation, and plant identification, so I guess I could talk about it there, but natural cures go so much further than just plants/herbs. There are supplements and vitamins, etc, and other non plant remedies.
That kind of info could be very useful. What do you think?

Sounds great. Maybe they could call it something else to avoid it being medical advice.

Yeah, couldn't a disclaimer sticky at the top take care of that? And we could call it something like Grandma's Home Remedies or some sort of name that connotes homey or holistic stuff.

Most people closely associate the word "remedies" with "cure". A variation of the above suggested title could be "Grandmas Home & Health Concoctions" <or eliminate the home and go with just health>
I think that should be perfectly legal. Make a sticky that says everyone should preface their advice with "grandma suggests" and you don't have to worry about lawsuits. Anybody asks it was your great-great-grandmother (who I'm assuming has passed on). I guess that would lead to the moral question of whether that is lying...........
Of course I have no legal experience. I'm just thinking out loud here. <turns off brain>

Then you're not giving medical advice and there's no legal ramifications. It's against the law for anything but a prescription drug to "cure" anything, so just remember never to use the "C" word. Isn't that a hoot? If someone had rickets and they took vitamin C, it would reverse it (notice I didn't say "cure"), but it's illegal for Vitamin C to cure rickets. (Hitting myself on the head with a hammer...) Ummm, who runs this country? Oh, yeah, now I remember... it's Big Pharma!
This is a hot spot with me, as it's been my life's work (natural healing) and I've learned so much over the years by reading and researching, and experimenting on myself, my husband, and my animals (don't tell the ASPCA!!!), but we're all healthy and drug-free now, so I must be doing something right.
I'd love to share some of the things I've learned, if anyone is willing to listen, so my vote is YES also. Just remember, we can't claim to have "cured" anything.

I was actually going to suggest we find a forum member who is a certified professional to mod posts.
