How bright is "30,000 microcandella output" ?

Trying to decide on some solar lights for the poultry yard and can't find anything that translates this to watts like I'm used to.

Rough figure is about 1.2 candela per watt in a incandescent bulb. So a 100 watt bulb would be about 120 candela. But the units that thing lists are intentionally misleading. 30,000 microcandela is 0.03 candela. So about 0.025 watts by my figuring. I'd check that spec agian.

Thanks, that sounds a bit dim alright! I did a cut and paste to make sure I got it right. Be nice if they could give it in something everybody understood, doncha know! LOL

Thats about the same result I got. (.029 candlepower).

You really can't convert that number to watts though because two different bulbs could have the same power requirement but vastly different light output. Watts is simply how much power something draws.

Maybe try googling the lights you are looking at, other distributers may have different or more in depth technical specs.
