no withdrawls? Quitting should be a breeze if you have no withdrawls. When I quit I felt drunk from withdrawls for a week, and I ached all over. Good luck

No Withdrawls? They're coming. About day seven thru 30 will be the toughest. Been over 2 years since my last puff. Problem is I still have at least one craving everyday. I guess since I smoked for over 30 years, My punishment will be that it'll take 30 years to get over the cravings.

Congrats! It's coming on week seven for me. I had started smoking again after going nearly a year without. Hopefully this time it'll stick! I guess it's just mind over matter! lol Keep up the good fight!

This october will be 11 years free for me after 20 years of smoking. Hang in there. I am pretty sure I cannot ever pick one up again or I will be back at it, so i just do not pick up that first one. Hardest thing I have ever done.

Good for you! I quit 4 1/2 years ago and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself and it's one of the things I'm most proud of!
Best of luck!

isnt it amazing, how cigarettes keep you wanting one years after you quit? I did quit during both my pregnancies, but the smell made me sick, cant get pregnant again so thats not an option. lol I did the patches, but still had the urges, so i eventually stopped that, the urge was too great. And stress sure will make you light one up. Cant give up caffeine and chocolate, which make me want one too. Gotta have my caffeine. If someone knows an easier way please let me know. i received a free sample of some cigs that had no nicotine, made from cocoa beans. Thought that would be the answer, get to puff, to help the habit, until the nicotine was gone from my system. Those things were nasty, they burned my throat. i would buy the pills if I had proof they actually worked.

I did the patch for three weeks ( free sample from the doc) and then just had to stay away from people who smoked and keep my hands busy. Boy was my house ever clean! The social aspect was the worse for me. I still think about it with the after dinner coffee but one whiff of someones smelly cig and I gag so that helps too!

the patch and zyban..they never worked b4 but this time it feels rite.especially since a tub of tobacco is $67.
I quit cold turkey for 10 yrs after smoking for 20 yrs..Everyone at work was offering begging me to have a smoke back them..Apparently I was a tad snarly.maybe so.

I tried the patch and it didn't work for me. The lozenges did. I think is was that they gave me something to do everytime I had a craving and I was incontroll of how often I used them. They taste terrible but thats a good thing as it keeps you cut down on how many of them you take.

People who smoke need supplemental Vitamin C. People in withdrawel need supplemental Vitamin C. If not already, maybe you should go to your health food store and pick up some Vitamin C. Cigarettes have lead, mercury, nickel, and ergot. Thioctic acid will help your body eliminate these.

You have made a great decision. You are saving your lungs to breathe ! When you get the urge, take a straw, pinch your nose closed, and try to breathe through the straw with your finger on the end. That is how people with lung problems feel is what I was taught. They fight for breath. Hard candy to keep in your mouth will help, too. You will begin to notice the flavor of foods taste so much better, and your clothes will not smell of smoke, keep up the good work, you can do it !!!! You made a great decision.

At the risk of sounding downright silly......here is a tip that helped me. When I got the urge to smoke I would pop in a wintergreen lifesaver to suck on (the only kind I like) and turn it so I could suck in through the whole in the center. Sorta felt like taking a drag. Then I would suck on it for awhile til I wanted another "drag", and repeat. Sounds stupid I know but it's kept me off of them for almost seven weeks now and I would really only do it when the urge was strong. I did use step 2 patches for the first two weeks then went off those too.
