Rat Poisoning?

What rat poisoning do you guys recommend? I have about 10 rats living in my hay piles outside of the goat pen and I need some heavy duty poisoning that won't bother the goats. Thanks in advance!

Take a 5 gallon bucket, put about 6 inches of water in the bottom, float some oats on top of the water (so it looks solid to the rat) and make a little ramp or put some kinda blocks against it so the rats can climb in for their last swim. I've read about this done with a 55 gallon drum also.
No poison = no risk of dead goaties.

Along with titans idea... try to put peanut butter on a rope strung at the top. Rats like PB. They'l walk on rope fall in. I have done that one with motor oil in the bottom I am sure cooking oil if found cheap enough would keep them from getting out also.
