Yea might be red neck if?

Your sitting on your front porch watching bugs fry on the bug light while watching the neighbors shoot off a gross of bottle rockets. Also while enjoying good friends one the net while drinking a cold refreshing beverage or several.
Ugh-um it doesn't get any better than this.
Well not unless he breaks out the roman candles.

What redneck activity's is everyone else doing tonight or tomorrow.
I here say both neighbors have spent hundreds on fireworks this year.Boy oh boy free fire works for the watching.
Well i better get off here the dew is making my keys wet.

Just came back from target shooting with the neighbors. Their property runs right up the mountain in back of them, so they've got a nice safe area to let off a few rounds.

Tomorrow night a bunch of volunteers is putting on a fireworks show in a little town nearby. We'll be going to that. We just can't afford to buy our own fireworks this year.

You might be a redneck if...

Instead of shooting off fireworks, you fire a box of shells through the 12 gauge to celebrate the 4th.

This year is the first year that we don't have all of our kids home. Its just gonna be me DH and our 2 yr old.

I plan to finish my very first quilt (made from all old blue jeans of ours)

Smoke a pork loin in the propane tank turned smoker.
Grill Corn on the cob in the buried bath-tub-grill in the back yard.

After lunch entertainment will most likely be provided by our turkeys who have just started to strut their stuff and fight (lol its too funny)

The evening will wind down listening to our 3 great Danes bark their heads off at the fireworks going off all around here.
All while trying out our first batch of home-made blackberry "elixir" (thanks to Cabin Fever and his recipe )

See, we're not "allowed to have fireworks here in NJ. We're one of only 5 states in the country that has a ban on them. So we just sit around and drink, lol.

Most of my redneck activity was yesterday. I had a car, 2 dryers and a fridge hauled off from the DRIVEWAY. Does it get anymore redneck than that? Hey, I had no where else to store the stuff (as she tries to justify it).

Today, redneck activity so far today... took truck dog and went for a ride to the home depot for super cleaner to clean the "mural" my ex-husband drew on the wall in his room.

Other than that, it'll be a quite and lonely 4th. My ex-sister in law is being a butt on my brother's visitation and making him stick to the letter of it. Even though he's a fireman and his schedule changes month to month and sometimes week to week. This will be the 1st year we don't do fireworks at my house. The dogs and I may go for a walk later and see if there are any "free shows" way off in the distance.

You might be a redneck if you have to take a 12G shotgun to go milk the goats.....rattlesnakes.

Pulled weeds, ran tiller, hauled a load of wood from the neighbors barn, go to work till midnight. While there dream up something to tell the state trooper I know will be running a roadside check on the way home. Will celebrate with a moon pie and drink when I get home tonight. Life is good.

I've been hauling around lumber, concrete blocks, and cage supplies today between the barn and the chicken area. I'm trying to get set up to start separating chicken breeds. I'm dirty and tired. I guess that's a red neck thing.

ETA: I also pulled up a bunch of hogweed to feed to the chickens.

Is your avatar a picture you took? It's so cute, I love the way the little guy is kind of looking sideways. Gives me a laugh when I see it.

LOL, I love it! It's not a pic I took. Forum member Wolf Flower has it in her online photo album. I asked her if I could use it for an avatar and she said yes. It's a pic of one of her Delaware hens.

LMAO! That was a good one huh.Guess i hit a key to many times and my spell check program corrected it that way with out me noticing. Or maybe it was the beverages.

Well i didn't shoot off any fire works. But i did make up a Shad basket for a buddy.(yep thats a redneck thang!) Also ran a clip threw his new 9mm pistol.I still say that thing will make to big-a holes in the coons.

We didn't have the money to waste on fireworks this year either. But thats OK because the neighbors have shoot off atleast 200dollars worth already. And we still have another neighbor that hasn't came home from the race track yet.Hum if your working at the race track on the 4Th ya might be a redneck to.

You might be a red neck...if you take money out of your savings to buy enough fireworks (this is a typical redneck adlib - I don't know where the money came from) to last for 3 hours and you aim 'em over your neigbors roof top....well, that's what our neigbors did. Does anyone have a link to a vet who will treat dogs for PTSD?

Just for the record, we get along fine with these neigbors, when I was coming back from walking up to the highway, she asked me if it would be okay to do the fireworks; I said it was fine with me but my dogs were already upset ... she just laughed and said hers were too....another sign of being a red neck?

Hugs

Well, we had too much rain yesterday and last night for fireworks, but dh said it is just not the Fourth if you don't cook out, so bless his heart, he stood out there in the pouring rain trying to grill up some burgers.

Then after dinner we sat on the porch and watched the natural fireworks.

I guess we'll set off our fireworks tonight

Yea might be read neck if?

I'm a well-read neck who spent the day outside in the heat celebrating our Independence by planting, weeding, fertilizing and pruning. Then we had an excellent supper of ribs, baked sweet potatos and corn on the cob of which I ate four ears. It was a well-read neck kind of day.

July 4th at the homestead:

Pulled out the largest kiddy pool & lined it with a 10 x 12 tarp to fix the leak. Filled it with cold water and lay on my back with an empty 2 liter bottle for a pillow. Adjusted the beac umbrella to keep tghe sun out of my eyes and tried to read a novel, but got distracted by the fauna. To most people it would seem as though I was surrounded by weeds on steroids, but I purposely put the pool where the deer had mad a flattened sleeping circle so it would feel more pond-like. The weeds are about 5 feet tall around the pool. As I lay there contemplating them, I realized how pretty some native plants can be. I have quite a variety around the pool-pond and they look spectacularly green against the deep blue of the sky above. I found myself sighing a lot.

After dark a neighbor was shooting off fireworks which gave me a front-row view. I was lounging in my front yard in a camp chair with a 2 puppies on my lap, having a Kodak moment and thinking how happy I am that I don't live in a city and did not have to be out in the traffic to have such a great Independence Day!
