What is the best BBQ sauce?

DH makes a good sauce out of bottled sauce, mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, and hot sauce.

How about you folks?

Here's one,

3 lg. onions, chopped
1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
1 qt. ketchup
2/3 cup concentrated lemon juice
1/2 cup vinegar
5 oz. Worcestershire sauce (about 1/2 bottle)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (crushed red pepper)
2 tbsp. mustard
1 c. brown sugar, packed
Garlic powder to taste

In a skillet, sauté chopped onions in melted butter or olive oil until tender. Remove from skillet and place in 4 quart saucepan. Add remaining ingredients, simmer on low-medium heat for about 1 hour, stirring often. Do not allow to stick or burn.

If not homemade sauce, I like the taste of "Baby Rays". I got a bottle of that brand by chance when I did not have time to make my own. So I borrowed a bottle from someone, used it, liked it and everyone was hooked!

For pork BBQ and meatballs, just plain old grape jelly and chili sauce. People about fall over themselves to get to the pot. Then they don't believe me when I tell them the recipe.

Though apparently simular sayings in many cultures.

Gates BBQ sauce from Kansas City.

When even the most ugly folks in the bar put just a dab of it behind their left ear, they don't go home alone.

And it's cheap, too.

The best BQ sauce is the one you just made. The ingredients always change a little bit, dependeing what you have on hand. I suppose the basic recipe is oil and vinegar (or wine). After that I look in the fridge and on the shelves
