Wisconsin homesteaders get together weekend...
Would anyone in wisconsin who would lke to homestead or is doing it right now, like get together for a potluck at some park...for those who can get away to camp, can and others can come for the day and share ideas...and thoughts, pictures, etc...I know it will take some planning...maybe do it late August? What is your ideas??? We can pick a central locatation to meet. I do not mind organizing the thing if everyone submitts ideas...We have 3 homestead families within a couple of miles from us...let me know.

I'm in!
Can I suggest Waupaca Camping Park? It would be easier to find and cheaper than Marathon Park in Wausau....

Cyndi and Paul~ That sure sounds like a great time but it's a bit too far for me to travel. I hope your get-together is a great time! And a bunch of people show up and share a bunch of great ideas and good food!

Waupaca works for me too o the other - does not really matter to us.
I would like to get to Cyndi and Paul's also. I will try to talk the Dh into it. He would probably go if I am willing to drive! I am.

Question, do you all have someone to watch your animals for a weekend??? And is the weekend of after labor day so we can have campsites together? Otherwise, it may be difficult to get sites before then, let me know please

My family will not be able to camp, but a day event would work for us. I know wood county has great camping areas, 2 off hand is North wood county park and lake Dexterville park. Let me know what I can help with.

Gosh, I had no idea that there were so many of us in Wisconsin! I'm about 15 minutes southeast of Waupaca.
It might be a good idea to post this in General Chat and Country Families forums too! I know Suz is in Wisconsin and so is Tallpines. Met both.

Well let's get this ball rolling then! Even if it's just for a day! Anyone know of a Park with a big pavilion that close to one of the main highways that is "easy on, easy off" so we can meet just for the day even? I'll start looking....
Waupaca area seems pretty central-ish...what do you guys think?

We would not be able to camp but could do a day event. It is really hard to find someone willing to take on everything here (especially milking!) We would love to get together after the labor day weekend - so you are talking the 9 & 10 of september?
We are in the stateline area, near janesville and beloit.

Ramblin'Acres is only a couple of miles from me (good friend) and I know she would love it too. I know nothing about the waupaca area but will travel to wherever to do this. It sounds like such fun!
