Good deal on meat grinder?

Is this a good deal on a meat grinder? Anyone know anything about this brand?

I can get another 15% off using my Kohl's charge card and with just 99 cent shipping it seems pretty good.

For that price, I think it's a good deal. I have one similar to that that I paid $80 for years ago made by Oster. It's been grinding venison for sausage for probably 8 years now.

It has a 150 watt notor, which is defintely considered light duty. Would probably be OK for occasoinal light use, but not for any prolonged grinding.

That's kinda what I thought with that size motor. Guess I'll stick with the one I have that works on elbow grease.

Cabela's sells a pulley to adapt a motor to a hand grinder. A friend of mine has one and it works nicely.

agmantoo, does that gear reducer only work with the power hand drill? Would there be a way to hook up a regular motor insteat of the hand drill?

It has been my experience that Kohl's is one of the worst places to shop on the face of the earth...when it came time to replace my Kitchenaid mixer DH stopped there (was on his way home) it was a full $100 more than any other stores that carried it. As I was returning it the next day , there I am, petite woman, 3 kids in tow wrestling with this huge heavy box....my daughter of 7 got her finger mashed in the door as we're entering. Not a single employee came to offer aide, assistance, or even ask if she was ok. Customers leaving teh store took the time to ask if there was anything they could do....cashiers craned their necks to stare in our direction....floor people milled around business as usual. When the manager was notified by me of the gross negligence of the employees she gave a sheepish apology and offered to take our information so they could follow up and make sure everything was alright. If I never again step foot in a Kohl's store it will bee too soon.

I found a kitchen aid grinder attachment for 2.99 at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago. Need to order a $15 knife for it, bringing the grand total to 17.99. I'll probably wait and see if I can turn a knife up at the thrift store from another grinder.

My hand grinder is also of thrift store vintage (and much more common) I paid $5 for it and it works great.

I've had the opposite experience with Kohl's. Loved their store when we lived in the city - always clean, well stocked, with helpful employees.

When I got my KitchenAid mixer I looked online at a lot of places and Kohl's ended up being the cheapest (with one of those periodic discounts they mail out). I think I saved 15% off their regular price, maybe more.

I love Kohl's for clothes.
