Charming 4ac homestead for a little over 8M

What's the true value once you take the Martha Stewart name away?

Nice place, but way over priced because of present owner.................

Hey, its only an "Estimated Payment of $43,724 Per Month". Somebody here ought to be able to pay that off just through selling organic eggs, right?

Hey, for some people that's just peachy. They can pay for it out of their tax cut. With plenty left over for a new Lexus.

God Bless America!

Hermit,

My yearly income wouldn't even cover Est. Taxes: $38,298 let alone the monthly payments.

Of course you could label those organic eggs, " From the farm of Martha Stewart" and charge an arm and leg for them. LOL

Its a magnificent house but 8m even in Westport is a bit pricey.

Ellebeaux: If you would like to see more of the house see if you can find a copy of Martha Stewarts New Old House. Its a wonderful book she published with lots of before and after pictures of the restoration and remodeling of the house when she first bought it. A real marth classic for your home library. Heres the biblio info and its still in print and available at Amazon, but your local library might have a copy:

Martha Stewart's New Old House
by Martha Stewart
ISBN: 0517577011
Publisher: Random House Inc
Date: 1992
Format: Hardcover 18 copies in stock
Pages: 288

The restoration of Martha Stewart's 1838 Federal-style farmhouse in Westport, CT, has been exhaustively documented in step-by-step narration by Stewart, with hundreds of photographs of everything from the backhoe at work to the fabulous herb garden in full bloom.
Includes information on: how to evaluate an old house; working with architects and contractors; eradicating poison ivy; the importance of daily clean-up during renovation; stripping paint and wallpaper; how to restore millwork; planning a kitchen; how to achieve "a contemporary approach to the graceful art of period design"; painting a faux Oriental rug; landscaping, including building a stone wall and a gazebo.
