Missouri Bound!!

Hi all
we are moving to our land next week!!!
Tomorrow was supposed to be our last day of work here but the boss called this AM and said don't come in. We figured they are not going to pay us our vacation pay we have coming
We will be having a yard sale this week and getting rid of the stuff we aren't taking with us. We are traveling light
We'll be living in our tent till we get a shelter up. Lots of hard work ahead of us but we are excited and mostly prepared.
We won't be online at the homestead for a long while but we'll check in from time to time at the library.
We'll be keeping journals and taking lots of pictures.
FolioMark will be our visiting neighbor and he has arranged to be at his homestead when we get to ours. He has graciously offered his assistanceto us in setting up our shelter. It is comforting to know we'll have good neighbors.
Lots of work here to do yet getting rid of stuff and getting ready.
just wanted to share our excitement!!
Jokey

How exciting! We did/are doing the same thing here. Started the adventure three years ago. We now have a nice house over our head, but still working on the inside. I won't say it was easy...but definitely worth it. Keep a journal and pics, I did and I love looking back and seeing how far we have come. It's great to look at when you feel discouraged or tired.

Mr and Mrs Jokey have bought a place on the other ridge across from me. When you turn off the paved road at Graces store, you take the left fork for my house and the right fork for the Jokeys. A nice walk to go visit if it werent for the big 30 degree hill between our two houses. Going downs no trouble but getting back up in the wheelchair is a bit taxing. :baby04: Im really looking forward to having them as neighbors and helping out with their first house. They may get sick of me putting my oar in and offering advice, but there will be plenty of 2x4 around to clout me on the head and give me a hint to go home. Might brave of them to come to raw land and just set up housekeeping. I was lucky. I bought a place with a cleared spot, an old shed for storage and power on site. I had it made.

Counting the days, Jokey. I will have some cold lemonade in the fridge and supper on the stove when you pull in. You can rest that first night and catch your breath.

When you get set up I hope you will join the HT camp out, maybe by next year we can both attend together for the first time. Dont forget to have fun on your new adventure and to pace your self and smell the wild flowers on occasion, remember All work and no play made Jack a dull boy.

Cowbaby: OMG do you live on H toward Grovesprings or east from TT? Ive prolly gone right by your place if you live toward Grovesprings. You are mighty close indeed. I will arrive sometime on June 16th barring natural disaster.

Rockpile: the only pond I know of in Origanna Woods is the little one on my back 6 acres and its only there in years when it rains like crazy. Jokey's land is up on the right hand fork as you come into Origanna Woods.
