Loggers

How is the log market in your area?

Here in NH, pretty much everyone is shut off. Chips are still selling, but you are better off selling for cordwood.

How about your area?

Firewood. The market is in firewood. If we sell in quarter cords to the condo market, cut, split, delivered, and stacked, we can get $300+/cord for hardwood with birch mixed in.

Mandy,
Doug Fir and Hemlock are going big time out here-alder seems to have slowed. LOTS of "parade loads" being hauled down from the hills-been this way for roughly a year or better. Dan

MC, firewood sells like hot cakes here too. It must be the high cost of living in New England and maybe some folks are just getting smarter...or is it all theses stuck up condo/McMansion people, needing pretty firewood for the fireplaces LOL

Dan,
Hemlock pulp is going here too, not as strong as it was due to paper mill closures and such but you can give all the spruce away you want here too. (sim. to douglas fir)

I was just curious as to what other parts of the country were seeing.
