installing a gas pipe.. troubles

I just finished running my gas lines below the floor (they were above the floor) and have one problem connection..

the pipe that comes out of the floor has an elbow and so does the stove.. I've got a pipe that goes between the two.. Problem is each end is threaded backward to each other (ie I can thread it into one elbow but need it to go the other way to tighten into the other).. I know I must be missing something obvious here..

I know I need a flex.. I'll be able to get that next payday.. but for now I plan to put it back the way it was (hard pipe in)

Any help is graciously accepted.

Be sure to check for leaks once pressure is applied, soapsuds is a safe method to look for leaks.

You don't use a Solid pipe between 2 appliances like that with gas line pipe, so you do not need a Union. You get a Flexible Gas Line that has The Connections on both ends to thread onto the pipe connection and the connection at the stove.. That way with the Flexible lines you can move the stove in and out without being a solid connection between the stove and the gas pipe coming out of the floor~!
