Wringer Washer Help

Any ideas why the agitator might not be working? The pump is shot but the motor runs the wringer just fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Pump????? On a wringer washer????? Never heard of that. All the ones I'm familiar with (one older than me in the basement.....) you dump buckets of water in the top.

What model do you have, might help get better answers that way.

i have ran into that on mine. mine has a piece of geared metal that fits on the transmission, on the outside of that is rubber that the agitator rides on.

when mine quit working, the rubber and metal had separated.

How do you remove the agitator on a wringer washer?
Mine wasn't agitating and I had someone else fix it. He wired it up underneath with a clothes hanger...something had came loose. Sorry, that's about the extent I can tell you.

I have no idea, that was my next step. To take the agitator out. I'm guessing it's a 1950s Kenmore wringer washer. The pump on it is to pump water out of it, and the guy I bought it said the whole thing worked the last time they used except the pump because they had left it out one winter night.
