washington state homesteaders

good evening, ladies and gentlemen
what do you think about our establishing a wa state homesteader site? i think somebody tried this last summer but the effort fizzled out. i think that's a real shame and i want to try this again. any takers?

Thumbs up washington state homestead site

I would be very interested in a site for our state. I was born and raised here and, have no plans of ever leaving. Toni

I like the idea, but have not clue how to implement it. And if we don't frequent it, it will die on the vine like the other one did.

It would be cool if we could have a place to volunteer for projects on each other's homesteads -- like for instance, I want to electric fence a good part of my clearing so I can keep a couple of goats in there to chomp down the blackberry jungle. I've got the wire and equipment, etc, but I need help actually doing it...

I'd also like to have a place where we could go in on stuff -- for instance I only need maybe 12 broilers, but you get the deals on 25 and more. If there was someone who wanted to split up a large order, we'd all profit. And I wouldn't have to chop so many of their little heads off...

Hey! Big fat juicy snowflakes are coming down! Starting to stick, too!

i'm interested in a WA-specific site but i just don't know if i have the time to visit another board. i can't spend much time online... had to wean myself off a couple of BBs as it is because i was spending too much time in front of the pooter. i'd probably visit it only when there's a disaster or when i have a WA-specific question or issue... or when i'm trying to put off doing something i despise. so maybe once a week.

Thursday 6:30 pm Snowing, fine and dry. About 3/4 " accumulation. Don't laugh all you Northerners, this will bring Western Washington to its knees if we get another 2 inches.

I'm all for a Washington forum, I might even help maintain it if asked. The trouble with a forum on Yahoo is that its on Yahoo.

We got 3 inches, though it has stopped for now. Still cloudy. Got my boy a flying saucer. I'm actually hoping there will be more snow and no school tomorrow just so's I can send him sailing down some real hills. The small slope in our clearing thrills him, so just imagine how much fun he'll have if we can go down the hill in the road. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

We have a foot on the ground and more coming down. Hee! Winter's here! The chickens are hating life, the ducks look like they've been beached, and the guineas finally found a bit of a clue (they're hunkered in a corner of the duck house instead of roosting in their maple tree).

Snooz, give that cutey of yours a push down the hill for me!

Jen, I knew you'd get dumped on! I'm supposed to go to work, but have tried hard to think of reasons not to. I'll just tell them I have your foot, lol! We've only got a few inches, but I know it's more than there is in town. Once you get off the Y road and onto North Shore, it's just wet. Plus, I think it's hovering around 32, so I can't even claim icy conditions

Not sure how much time I could commit to another forum, but I prefer forum style to the lists at Yahoo, so I'd no doubt visit it!

Tell them you have my foot of snow and the plows haven't made it up the road yet. We're hovering around 25* right now, so the white stuff isn't going anywhere.
