How do I prepare persimmon pulp?

I just picked a basket of persimmons and need to know the best way to remove skin, seed and prepare pulp.

Tried a few by hand without good results.

I have no clue what to do!

Any persimmon pro's out there?

Thanks in advance!

Clove

Run them through a food mill. We have one that works really well on just about anything as long as it is soft enough. Since ripe persimmons are so soft the food mill should work like a charm.

We run them through a collander set over a bowl. Just use the wooden thing and wallow them around and the pulp runs out.

If they're still hard, we used to put them in the freezer. No prep is necessary. Let them freeze hard, take them out and its very easy to separate the skin from the flesh part. Course the persimmons we had were much larger than the wild ones here.
