Something killed it

I found something odd this morning. Something killed a rat out by the rabbit house last night. The only thing left was the head, and guts. Nothing else. What ever it was ate it right up. I have seen coons eat the heads, and leave the body, but can't say I remember what it would be that would eat the body and leave the head, and innerds. Innerds aren't strewn all around either. Nice neat pile, just like what was holding them together just disapeared.

I've had chickens eaten and whatever it was left nothing but the foot. It also ate our bunny and only left its tail. It tore apart wire cages like they were made of paper.

Chupacabra.

Or a young boy with a new knife practicing his field-dressing?

I had a cat that would catch and eat mice and leave the head as a trophy/gift.

Maybe a cat?

Chupacabra... *giggles quietly*

We had a mouse problem when we lived up in Alaska. They were always getting into the chicken feed, gorging, then dying and stinking up the feed. We solved it by putting the feed bin in the coop. Every now and then we found little mouse pieces, a paw here and a tail there. The chickens tore those mice up like it was nobody's business. Do you have any loose, hungry chickens?
