Rubber couplers
Hi, the answer is yes.....these rubber couplers are great for what you are working on. Often when working on older bathroom plumbing and replacing rotted floor, the main drain line has shifted around a little, or the house has. These couplers make great transition tools for converting the main pipe or toilet drain, which everything else dumps into below the floor, to pvc pipe which is easier to deal with generally speaking. If you are simply trying to transition a small pipe to a larger diameter cast iron pipe, then you can use a rubber coupler, but you may need the one which is actually a reducing variety,1 1/2 inch x 2 inch in this case. Be sure and measure the outside diameter on both.....so you can get the right one while at the building supply or plumbing house. If you forget.....usually you can measure one off the shelf while there to get what you need . Hope this helps. dave_p
ps. remember that you can stretch the rubber a little when necessary.
