Charles Ingalls Hat and Boots?

Anyone know where I can find the hat and boot style worn by Charles Ingalls on the television show? Talk amout enigmatic clothing...

Is this a specific hat style/type that I should be searching for?

Here are the boots with the flaps on the side. What are these called?

Any ideas?

Both may be available at a Country & Western wear store, the boots with the fringe are common items there.

There's a really nice site called River Junction Trade Co. They have all kinds of clothes, shoes and accessories from that time. I wanted a bonnet like ma wore. Not the poke bonnet but the dressy one. They had just what I wanted.

The boot style is called mule ears. Go to and you should find a source for them.
Any western store that gets hats from the company unblocked( Hoss Cartwright style) can shape a hat to suit you. It just takes a little steam and the use of hands.
