go karts and snowmobiles

I bought a house this summer on a private road in a community that has very loose rules and regs. It is a lakefront community and we all have user rights to the lake with piers and so on. I have an acre and the house is at one end of the acre on the corner on <my---I am the only house on it> the private road which runs in front of my house and the lake acess road that runs alongside my house. Tha acess road is open to everyone in the community and is just a one lane semi gravel/grass road. I have been told the snowmobilers use this acess road freely in the winter and I am going to assume they will also use the private road in front of my house. The county does not repair or plow either of these roads. I am now having 2 groups of kids about 10-12 using their go karts on the acess road and in front ofmy house all day on the weekends. I spoke to them today after 2 hours of very loud noise, and asked them to find another route for awhile, that I was trying to enjoy my property, and they did. I was very nice to them.
Here's my question:

Do kids on go karts need a license to go on a county road? Do snowmobilers?

Thanks

I sure like to know the answer to this question myself. When we were at our land last weekend, the boys from the next house down (20 acres between me and them) were riding their mini bikes and ATV up and down the road for 2-3 hours. I sure don't want to hear that noise every Saturday morning.

I agree, and the word here is the snowmobilers go every night and on weekends late at night.

aaaarrggh just when I thought it would be sane! I am not going to fight them, i will be nice but then I will buy earplugs. I am too old do fight anymore

I'm not sure about your exact laws; but generally speaking, go karts, snowmobiles, and other ORVs (off-road vehicles) have no right to be on a public (county) road. A private road is another matter entirely.
Since running ORVs on a county road in the middle of nowhere isn't exactly a high priority violation of the law, law enforcements officials aren't going to get all worked up about it. They ignore it ... and those running the ORVs know it.

In Minnesota, teens need to take training and obtain a certificate from the State in order to operate ATVs and snowmobiles. I suggest that you contact your state dept. of natural resources and obtain the rule books for ATV and snowmobile operators. These rule books should answer your questions.
