Good customer service
I dont know if any remember, but about 4 years ago DH and I tried to buy a beautiful old house. We are in VA, the house was in NC, and was in forclosure by BOA and handeled by their office in CA.
Now normally I wouldnt have anything to do with BOA, but you had to go through them. We met the woman that was running the division in CA. Her name is Gina and she was MORE than helpful. The sale didnt go through but it certainly wasnt her fault.
Seems that in the middle of the arraingement BOA changed the regulating office to FL and everyone there was on Christmas leave. Gina helped to try and push the hold thing through, and was just as nice as she could be.
Well we havent heard from her in years. today is my DH birthday. Gina sent him a very nice birthday card. How nice is that?? If you ever have t deal with BOA look up Gina in CA, she is great!!!

It's so easy to get frustrated with customer service. Nice to hear of good experiences, too!
Last week I was looking for the adjustment screw to post jack. Have the jack new in the box from some years back but somehow the screw is lost. No one seemed to carry a replacement, so I found the company and shot them an email asking if they know of any retailers who sell them. A guy sent me an email back, asked for the model number and said he would send me one free of charge. Now that's great service!

Since good customer service skills are so rarely seen in business nowadays, the few good ones really stand out!
I always do my best to get the word to their manager, and suggest a raise for the employee who is an asset to the company.

I must be too easy going, I have had a few disappointments but usually there is a reason. I try to be courteous and keep involved so I know when there is a problem and try to work around it. I did have a small problem at the car dealer about a oil change. I called and they told me to just bring it in, no appointment necessary. When I got there they told me it would be 3 hours before done, I had set aside 1 hour to be in town and then I had another appointment so it wouldn't work out. They would not provide a loaner. I will never go back. It is where I bought the car, they lost the GM franchise and it was bought out by another dealer. I know where I am wanted, so I go there, usually small town owner operated businesses....James

Good customer service says it all for me. Treat me well and you have my business and I will tell everyone I meet how and why they should also support you. Bad service and I will go out of my way to tell ten times as many people how bad it was!

Me too! Only proviso - I do NOT expect to get slapped with a stud fee after the date.

I bought DH some Royal Robbins shirts last fall (on clearance, but still pricey) and two had begun fraying at the seams and hems...sent an email with pics to RR and got a reply the next day to go to their website and pick out two new shirts. We got them about a week later. It's restored my faith that their is decent customer service out there still.
The young woman that works in our local Wmart bakery is so nice about sorting and rinsing empty buckets out for me when I stop by for any...reminds me I need to write a note about her to her manager.

My dad has a zippo lighter, 30+ years old. It wasn't opening/closing properly. I looked them up online, the web site said just send it back so we did. About 2 weeks later, he got it back, it was fixed and polished up. Repairing something for free you paid less than $20 for decades ago?? That's service!

We found a house in Brighton, MO. The realtor was really nice and went out of her way to help us. We were in CA at the time. She took pictures and found all the answers to our questions. Someone else ended up getting it so we started looking around again. We found another house, but the agent for it was not very helpful. I told my husband to just see if the other realtor would be able to help us. She was and she got all the commission. We have friends looking to move to the area. They will be going through her.

All the "homesteading" activities we do have meant a lot of trips to home improvement stores for materials. And, I go a lot of the time, cause I'm not what you'd call the "skilled labor" part of the family workforce.
Anyway, home depot and lowes are not easy for me to deal with, cause a lot of times, I get sent to the store with a shopping list, but I don't know if i'm getting the right item.
menards opened near our old house a few years ago, and they are better in the customer service dept, I think.
then we moved again and we have a do it best home center here. boy, do I love them. the prices are sometimes the same, sometimes a little more. and sometimes they have to order stuff. but, they get deliveries twice a week, so I can usually have the stuff back to the house before the weekend work time. but, the customer service is amazing. they always ask if they can help, and they have a regular staff who all have departments they specialize in. these guys have worked as plumbers, electrical, etc i'm sure cause they know their stuff. they're super nice, and super patient, and I go there almost exclusively now for everything. they even have helped me with info about other stores to go to when they don't sell what I want or need. even when it's a little more $ for an item, I save because I don't have to waste the time or gas to go elsewhere, and almost every time I shop with them, I have left with exactly what the men at home need, so no trips to return/exchange.
don't know if all do it best stores are like that, but ours is and it's such a breath of fresh air.
