Why I say NEVER NEVER use Priceline

I just learned a $300.00 lesson. Went on the computer and booked four days in Savannah for business. Two days in a break down stop my work. Need to rebook the last two days in the future. No when you step foot in the hotel you can not cancelled any part of your trip. Talked to the Hotel and they stated that their hands were tied and Price line said no also.
DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY USING PRICELINE.

I'm not sure that's exclusive to Priceline. You usually have to pay in full ahead of time, you have to commit to it to lock in the lower rate on these online services and package deals. The ones that allow cancellation during a trip will charge a fee to help make up for their loss. Might have been different if you had booked directly with the hotel - on the other hand, the nightly rate may have been more expensive.

Priceline says right up front that there are no cancellations allowed, so how is it a surprise that you can't cancel it?

I am currently on a trip that I used Priceline to purchase. I saved over $300 on my airline ticket to visit my grown kids. I accidentally put the wrong dates in when I reserved it, but knowing that there is no cancellations or changes, I knew I just had to go on the days I put in. I was supposed to put Tuesday to Tuesday and put Wednesday to Wednesday. One of my kids is off work on Tuesdays and they both work on Wednesdays. My son had to take off work to pick me up. It isn't too big of a deal, but I knew as soon as I read the confirmation that I had messed up and couldn't fix it.

This happened to my DD, but she knew ahead of time that was the deal for locking in the low prices. It's not like they keep it from you or anything... You take a risk to lock in a lower price than normal.

The hotel said that they would match what ever Price LIne quoted. My job had a break down so the trip was cut in half
