Put each tin of tobacco in a zip lock bag with a slice of apple, toss in the fridge for a couple days.

The best way to make it enjoyable is to take the tin, open it up, tip it upside down over the nearest trash receptacle, watch the tobacco fall into the receptacle , let go of the tin so it too falls in there, bag up the trash, and take it to the dump.

According to a lot of people over on the pot smoking thread you might make it enjoyable by mixing a little pot in with it .

Rewetting it isn't going to help much.. It's still going to have a stale flavor.. Shygal has the correct answer..

If you put your rewetted stuff up against the same flavor new, you're going to tell a huge world of difference.

Mammy. Cause I don't smoke. BUT sometimes, I pike to light up in the wintertime, when im just setting around and not doing anything. I could perfectly well live without it. I bought the backer for the tins actually. Now, when I go to the sale, and its COLD and windy, I like to light up as its putting warm air in my mouth to help negate the coldness of the air outside.
Cant argue with you Shy I havnt smoked since cigs hit $1.50 a pack. OTHER than maybe a doz pipe loads over the course of winters from then till now.

I have heard that smoking a pipe gives a wise man time to think.... and a fool something to stick in his mouth.

Well, if it's something for the ladies, he might try something other than PA.

I remember there being a nice cherry, some time ago....forget the name of it though. You couldn't get it just ANYWHERE, but it wasn't hard to find. There was a white Burley that smelled good. Get something that smells good, women are suckers for a good smelling pipe...unless they're against smoking, then you're sunk. If you chew it, you're beyond sunk.

The piece of apple advice is the best. Smoked a pipe for years and a slice of apple always rescued a dry tin. Tobacco naturally will absorb moisture and has to do so before it can be handled in the sheds after drying.

Yep, All very True. A slice of apple in the package with smoking tobacco will make it fresh again, so it won't be too dry.

I grew up in SE Indiana. And, we had a "Tobacco Base" or Allotment that we could grow each year. I think it was an acre and 2 tenths. You could only handle the dried tobacco, after it was cured, in the barn,on rainy or damp days. Then you had to strip the leaves off the stalks and grade them by color and thickness. We generally made 4 or 5 Grades. The leaves were then tied up in "hands" and each of the Grades kept separate.
Tobacco was a good cash crop, when I was growing up.

I smoked a pipe for many years. But not any "homegrown" It was too strong in flavor.

When I smoked a pipe I never did enjoy Prince Albert. Always too dry and uncomfortable. Briggs, Three Nuns and occasionally Cherry Blend were the varieties I smoked. And yes, the comments about putting some sliced apple into a dry batch are correct. Adds moisture and some flavor.
