Amazon Adding Shipping Charges !

...............So , I ordered (2) items , shipping is Supposed to be free..........Invoice says shipping is ~$10.12..........So I send Amazon an Email , WHY are they showing shipping when it is supposed to be free ?
................I was supposed to 'APPLY' for free shipping during checkout..........I never saw IT ! And , WHY do I have to apply for something that I was supposed to receive , FREE in the first place ? They PMoff , when they play these little computer games . Sorry about the rant , fordy

If it was free shipping from Amazon your order total would have to be at least $35.00 in order to get the free shipping. You don't have to apply for free shipping. It automatically deducts it when you reach the $35.00

If it is a third party seller some offer free shipping or free shipping when you spend a certain amount. Most have shipping charges though.

The free shipping is not the default option. You have to "select" free shipping at checkout. It's a bit of a pet peeve for me, too.

Actually, you do have to check the free shipping with $35 purchase box now, it used to be automatic.

Did they take the shipping off when you emailed them, fordy? If not, email back or preferably call, and ask them to refund it.

I just ordered something from Amazon and it IS free shipping, If over a certain amount, and mine was. Now there was a way t get Free Shipping by getting a Amazon CC Card also. I did not do that if I had the shipping days would be 1 - 3 days other then doing that it is 3 - 5 days which I did but the Shipping Free does NOT Show up until you are at checkout.
What does your receipt say?
This is what mine says.
Item Subtotal: $45.00
Shipping & Handling: $17.09
Promotion Applied: -$17.09
Total Before Tax: $45.00
Order Total: $45.00
You see they Added it THEN subtracted it off.

I just ordered from them last week. It was automatically checked during the check out process. I don't order from them often, but I guess I better double check the shipping option each time now. Thank you for that.

Yep, the pay option is the default. (Unless you have Prime, in which case, the default is free 2day)

Was it shipping charges, OR Taxes added to the final order?

Been placing alot of orders with Amazon the last couple of weeks. Used to I didn't have to do anything to get the free shipping except spend enough(LOL). I noticed that I have to change the shipping method now, it no longer defaults to the free shipping.

Blueberry Chick nailed it... Free Shipping is no longer the default option (I mean, why would it be)

Yes you have to check the box, to get the free shipping. And then it says when you do that, the shipping is taken off once you go to the check out.
And this is what it says.

Order subtotal: $62.34
3 items in your Cart
Edit your CartProceed to Checkout

Your order qualifies for FREE Shipping! <<<<<<<< This
Select this option at checkout. (Some restrictions apply) And then <<<<<<<<<<<<<< This

Because they want you to pay for the shipping if they can trick you into doing so.

How is it a trick, if you don't pay attention enough to your order to check it?

It says your items QUALIFY for free shipping, it doesn't say it IS free shipping. You have to choose it.
Really, how hard is it to just look at the shipping options and select the right one?

The only thing that annoys me is it USED to be 25$ and it just went to 35$ recently

I don't think they're trying to trick anyone. We have Prime now, but if I remember correctly, the free shipping is a longer shipping time. The paid shipping is normally quicker by a few days, so they assume people would rather have their packages quicker.

Unfortunately, that is not true. When checking out, regular shipping is the default. You have to click on Free Saver Shipping option to get it. This has been true for at least a year as I remember. I now have Prime so don't worry about it, but before I got Prime, I had to click on the Free Saver Shipping button.
