Another reason to love the fall ... books!

Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, one of which is new books that publishers tend to bring out in September and October in time for Christmas gifts.

So far jackpot! Newest book in the J. D. Robb "In Death" series. Very good, stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this one, which ended with a holiday dinner where all the family/friends from previous books met for the Thanksgiving holiday. Love meeting 'old friends' again.

Found the first book in a new series by John Ringo at the library that I think I'm going to like very well, sci-fi/space opera, which he does very well. Right after I finished that, found the latest book in the Brandon Walker series by J. A. Jance in the library's Kindle downloads and got that one read ... my second-favorite series by this author and very good feel for the AZ desert where it is set.

Three new books on my hold list at the library now waiting for me, all authors I like, but not quite well enough to re-read often enough to justify a purchase.

And last but definitely not least, next week a new book by Robin McKinley, a wonderful fantasy author who has written four of my favorite re-reads.

I'm with you, SFM, not only are there new offerings, but this chilly weather just makes curling up with a good book and cup of hot tea so inviting.

For me, hot chocolate. And it's dark later in the morning and earlier in the evening ... so more time I can justify not being outside working!

I love a good book! But at the rate I'm going through them lately, I've got about a ten-year backlog on my shelves. So which was the Ringo?
I read him and David Weber.

Don't forget the hot water bottle. Hot chocolate with a shot of whiskey and a hot water bottle - and the good book, of course!

Mmmm, hot chocolate with a shot of whiskey sounds interesting. I am very fond of hot coffee with Baileys in it.

Title is "Under a Graveyard Sky" ... first book in a new series and liked it a lot.

I read quite a lot by John Ringo, Eric Flint, David Weber and David Drake ... all a bit similar in what they write and I don't like all of their series but some definitely go on my 'own to re-read' list. Really liked the earlier books in the Honor Harrington series by Weber, the Raj Whitehall series by Drake and Eric Flint's "Mother of Demons" is probably the best first-contact standalone I've ever read.
