stolen farm equipment

Just wanted everyone to be more aware ( if not already) farm equipment is being stolen in a high rate. My sister just called and her and her husband had their farm eq. stolen this last week. Like many others their property is not where they live.

theives are targeting and breaking into rural property and taking everything not nailed down. neighbors are not able to help in most cases.

it is hard when you don't live on the property, but like many day jobs keep the commute times difficult to live where you farm.

I know there may be notheing to be done but stay aware and maybe you can help other or yourselves.

Yep, it's bad around here where I live. And what's bad is most everyone knows who's doing it, but the law seems to ignore it. I didn't know about it but supposedly a few people around here went up and had a meeting with the sheriff in his office. So maybe he'll do something for a change.

It's everywhere. So sad..... I got a weird phone call after we listed our house with realtor saying there was a rash of individuals in our area who would pull up the local homes for sale, look at the pics online to see electronics, etc., and check the online listing to see if there is a security system. If no security, they were breaking in! Seriously?? Good thing I have a 110 pound security system that will gladly meet them at the door!

Living on a dead end 1 1/2 mile gravel road you wouldn't think you'd see many "sight seers", but every now and then I show them a sight they don't want to see. My 12 gauge.

Yup - we're at the end of ours too - ad we check when we hear a vehicle. A few times it has been the "zombies" as my DH calls them - they were breaking into the place across the road as the lady was sick and gone from there.....

Guess they hit it a few times... in 2 different groups....

We've been having a red truck slow or stop at our house recently. Its making be quite paranoid. At first they were trying to take our dog, but now the dog is never out there and the truck still stalls around our house...

Get a tag number. If it happens around the same time find a place you can observe or maybe follow to get the tag number. Or maybe ask for a county mounty patrol either random or during the times the little red truck passes. I get a might suspicious if some one is going slow by my place. Doesn't usually repeat if I happen to be seen at least once.

Then you need to have more action through the gate. That is one thing I like about a dirt drive way. The in and out action does not need to be seen to be effective. The daily tracks will do.
