It's normally used in forums like this to answer a question about something that the poster could have easily Googled for himself. By setting up a query at lmgtfy.com, you can post it so the animation of doing a simple Google search is displayed.

It's usually intended as a not-so-subtle message, suggesting that someone is too lazy to search for answers himself.
