What Do You Do For Fun?

So, realized the other day that I'm feeling all restless. Then realized that the only things I do anymore are productive and multitasking, never just because I enjoy it.

Please give me ideas about things that are just/mostly for fun before I turn in to an old fuddyduddy long before my time!

Video games. I love RPGs--- the best ones are like an interactive novel... DragonAge if you like fantasy, The Mass Effect series is a must see for any sci fi fan, the easy mode is simple enough that anyone can get through it to enjoy the deep story and rich world.

I'm a horse rider and have a met a great group of like-minded women that I ride with as often as I can. I had not ridden my horses in years, then found all these friends. They have really helped me realize there is a lot of fun out there waiting!

Ooh I don't have Dragon Age yet...

Dirtbike. 4wd. Drive. "Borrow" my mate's drag car. Fix my classic car I'm proud of. Sing really really loudly at plants because they can't judge me. Give myself credit for singing really well when they grow. Judge them for their poor taste in Operatic Drama if they wilt. Take the antlers off the wall and pretend I'm a moose. Chase my husband around going, "Moose. Moose. I don't know what sound a bloody moose makes! And these are deer antlers!" I like to pet the cat backwards. I have an artbook I draw in when I'm feeling creative. Sometimes I draw nakie pictures of my husband doing housework and tell him it's his fault for marrying someone who could draw. I train my dog. I play Arcanum. I make soap. I make jewellery. I make jam. I make clam rakes. I go clam raking. I make clams for dinner. On the beach, over a fire, with some wine from my own fruit, with the dogs [and my husband, if he fits in the car after the dogs] and we watch the stars. Sometimes we have NERF fights. Sometimes I have them with the cat.

Well I ride my horse, walk my dog, bake and play RPGs. I love me some World of Warcraft..lol..

I also make things, I crochet and make bath salts for Christmas Presents.

I research a lot of things on the net. Things that interest me. I watch Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm and other shows like that (documentaries).

I cook. I wish I had a huge family because I can really cook like no tomorrow and enjoy it. I made spaghetti sauce this morning from scratch and a pound cake from scratch, all before 10 am - lol..plus meatballs from scratch.

Other things: read, play word games, and believe it or not..I like to clean house, I mean do the things that you never have time to do normally like clean out drawers, baseboards, etc.

I know most of that doesn't sound like "fun" but to me, it beats my job all to pieces and I really do like to do those things. When the weather warms a bit, I will begin container gardening again. I have some new ideas I want to try this year.

I curl up and read. I pack a picnic and visit the zoo with DH. I go to dog shows with one, the other or both of the oldest Grands. I visit with my kids or take the grand kids out for lunch. I go to see live theatre now and then. I knit. I take some bread or something out and sit in the chicken pen, throw food to them and watch them chase around - they are hilarious. I make cheese. I make soap, lotions, something to make me feel pampered.

Fols - did you know that riding will keep your bone density up in the "good" range? Also it is very good for rejuvanation of muscle tone?

I am so glad you are riding again, take it slow and before you know it, you will be like me, on the horse at all possible times.

Good for YOU!!

good thread. I ride as well, and sometimes I just go out to the horse pen and talk to them, play with them. today is nice, but very muddy. I had as much fun talking with them as I would've riding them. play with the new filly, brush them all.

my dogs, love to play with them, pet them , love on them.

art, lots of time spent in my studio or framing. in the last couple months I started meeting with some others for life drawing sessions, grand fun there! I also love doing plein air, which is painting outside from life. I meet with others for weekends doing this, and sometimes just out myself alone, well, with my dog alone. very fun.

or, I can mix a few of these--take a camera and sketchbook out on a ride, with the dogs along! that is a wonderful way to spend a day!

I also love to learn things online. I don't use it for non stop fb chatting or anything, but I love to learn new things or improve what I already started!~

sometimes I just ride along where hubs is going. no reason, just to go along. that was some of why things weren't good for a long time, we spent NO time together, ever. sometimes its good just to be together just cuz. not just in the same house, but really together, talking, joking, like before kids!

I like staying busy, working on crafts, in my shop, even mowing grass! I like staying busy. Working on vehicles, remodeling the house, going to town with the wife. I am pretty easy going. I even like interneting or reading a book. Oh, did I say I like to cook and eat!!

I'm scouting my property for some places to put a couple of zip lines...

I don't have an area long enough to put a shooting range over a hundred yards or so, so I'm looking for a place I can place two zip lines to travel back and forth between the shooting bench and the targets across a wash or holler...

I figure that should allow for a lot of fun.. shooting, and zip lining... Believe it or not, my wife even mentioned zip lines before I said a word about it to her, even though I had been thinking on if for a bit already..

I go for walks with my hubby, I like to fish in our front yard pond, I plant things, I read, I sew or paint (artsy/crafty stuff), make birdhouses out of repurposed items, hang out with my goats and chickens, watch TV, etc.

I've always got so many things/projects I want to do that I never feel restless.

Simi-steading - I've also been thinking of ziplines. We have a creek that has ravines on most of it with a waterfall. I'd love to put one over the falls. I even thought of one of those rope bridges. Let me know if you do it, would love to trade ideas!

I'm sure we'll end up doing it, but it will be a year or two before we do since we won't be living out there until then. Right now it's trips to the farm to get the house fixed up before we can move in.

Hiking with my dogs. Can't backpack anymore due to screws in my ankle :-( but love hiking. And I love to read, usually weird historical non-fiction like the history of Great Britain for dummies. lol.

I like to: play with our animals (dogs, ferrets, and kitten), make things, paint, scrapbook, decorate, organize, read.

I don't have much time to do all the things I would like, though. Stepdaughter's scrapbook is a year behind.

I try to find things I enjoy that are also productive: I love to can and to cook, for example. DH and I like to curl up on the couch and watch movies. He likes to play video games, and sometimes I play as well.

I read. I garden. I experiment with cooking (but it's only fun if it's experimental - practical cooking is a chore). I watch television. I knit and crochet. I used to sew...it has been a loooong time since I did that. I shop.

I read a lot, and write, and paint -- landscapes, mostly. DH plays video games, and enjoys snowmobiling.

As a family, we like board games. As the boys are getting older now, though, it seems like we do that a lot less
