2 chainsaws, 2 axes, 2 machettes

plus me and my 5 kids
equals some firewood for next year and a partially cleared field that had grown up since it was used last. We'll see how far we get before spring if we work a bit every day.

Got my first garden bed laid out and mulched too.

How's it going on your stead? Any fall projects going on?

Well, inside ones in the form of holiday baking and canning. Found an owl has taken up residence at our place (this is very rare here) so I think I may be going outside more!

I truly need to somehow tackle the grasses that grew out of control while I recovered (ok, semi-recovered) from shoulder surgery. What a mess.

Need to do some type of cover crop in the raised bed gardens.

Finishing my gothic style hoophouse. Then adding more egg laying space for the chickens. Went from six to thirty.

Practically into winter here. 9 cords cut and stacked into the new woodshed. Used a new roofing material that I love, Ondura Corrugated Roofing - Residential Roofing - Commercial Roofing - Agricultural Roofing - Re-Roofing - OFIC North America Inc. Reroofed a shed, the mobile home, and springhouse, can't say enough good about this stuff. Turned the goats out into the garden plot. Canned more than usual, but the NW had a good growing season, especially for peaches and apples. Got a good coat of white stuff down on the roof, and bought a bunch of tarps at a truck sale in town. Nothing says country like blue tarps.

I think we used the same roofing for one of our sheds. Sure is a time saver. I have 2 crockpots of apples going right now, too. =0)
