Yes about 4 yards should do you ok. Some will depend on what type of binding you plan on doing. When I do a quilt I figure 3" extra all the way around in order to attach the quilt to the machine to quilt. And to allow for any take up while quilting. (Sometimes the top or batting will shrink up a bit while quilting.)
It will also depnd on where you want to place the seam in the backing also. But if you put it down the middle going from side to side, vice top to bottom, it will be about 82 to 84 inches long and, with 4 yards, 72" wide. You should cut off about 1" from the selvages as leaving them will cause the back seam to pucker. It is tight that way, but doable.
If you make the seam down the middle top to bottom it will be 84" wide and then you can just figure the exact lenght. In the case of the quilt being 81" in lenght I would get a bit more fabric probably 5 yards. That way each side would be 90" long, but you would have left on the width.
