Warm Gingerbread

I had a day off and determined to use some of the molasses that has been lurking in the pantry. I bought it two years ago, a gallon jug. Thus far, Boston Baked Beans, Colonial bread and best of all...gingerbread. This is so good that I wonder why I don't make it more often. The house smells great I'm realizing that I have seriously under utilized molasses all these years. Now, what else can I use it (molasses) for?

I think that's one of those wonderful fragrances that Febreze should make. Of course, I think the smell of bacon would be a wonderful room fragrance spray as well.

Try some on fresh biscuits or even toast.

Yes I like orange marmalade too.

Some bread recipes call for quite a bit. I often double it. Might just be a Maine thing.

Switchel. Water with a dash of cider vinegar, sweetened with molasses!

Thirst-quenching and replenishing.

It is what they used to carry to the workers in the field, in pioneer days, I have read.

Try some warm unsweetened or lightly sweetened applesauce on that gingerbread. Now I'm going to have to make some too.

Molasses doughnuts! OMG they are so good! Nobody makes them anymore.

My father's favorite dessert was molasses on warm biscuits.

I haven't had gingerbread for a long time but used to make upside-down gingerbread. It had apples on the bottom. If I remember correctly, melt 2 tablespoons butter on the bottom of the pan, sprinkle some brown sugar, place apple slices, then pour gingerbread batter on top, then bake.
