Think twice about the HPV vaccine !!
Thats right, there have been 119 deaths related to the HPV vaccine, and over 800 reports of disabiities, and over 500 other problems associated with it. And the chances of getting cancer is higher with the vaccine than without. Don`t ya just love the doctors playing God without researching the vaccine first(long term). > Thanks and Blessings Marc

It's not about the Dr.'s playing god, it's about the pharmaceutical companies filling their coffers. There are no morals so long as the share holders are getting their cut too..

I think the slam at shareholders is inappropriate. I have stock in pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, and a rail road. I assure you, I don't get to make decisions.

You may not make the decisions as a single person, but you can go to a share holders meeting and vote..... also, by buying stock in them, you are saying you want them to do all they can to make you money...
They need the share holders to keep their companies funded, so they do anything they have to to keep the profits flowing.. A scratch each other's back kinda deal...
In the industry I work in, they do a lot of work for the pharmaceutical industry, and if you saw even half the stuff I have concerning them, you'd have a pretty tainted view of them too...
Yes, I used to have some investment in them too, and may still even through my 401... but that doesn't mean I approve of a lot of the things I've seen them pull because of the places I've worked for.
I've seen drugs pulled that worked well, because they were about to come off patent, and they made up other excuses to keep others from profiting on the generic of it. I've seen them get away with selling drugs that have known serious problems and kill people. I've seen them weazle out of paying for serious damages. I've seen them rob others blind and get away with it.... It really is an ugly industry with a whole lot of really dirty secrets...

My daughters both rec'd the vaccine after their grandfather, a top (adult) life-long scientist for one of the pharmaceutical companies reviewed the research and the risks. They had no problems whatsoever.
Note: he is a real scientist and medical doctor, educated at Harvard and not one of Mercola's quack brethren.

The Mercola website is not taken seriously by most medical practitioners.
I think the HPV vaccine is a great thing, for both men and women, but I don't think it should be mandatory, as has been proposed by some.

I would have ask for "legitimate" links!
I have 6 grand daughters between the ages of 14 and 20 who have had this vaccine, no problems, issues or deaths with any of them.

It is never in the best interests of a pharmaceutical company to create and encourage the use of a vaccine or any medicine that can cause injury or harm. Yes, they may make $$ up front. But when the lawsuits hit, they'll lose more $$ then they made off that vaccine/drug.
If they are money-grubbing, the best way for them to make money is to develop effective and safe vaccines and drugs.
One of my good friends worked for Lily Pharmaceutical for 30+ years (he has his PhD in Chemistry). He is now retired and works as an independent expert witness who flies all over the world to testify in lawsuits involving medications gone wrong. I've heard a LOT from him over the years about what Big Pharma does, and NONE of it involves pushing anything that could cause harm to the consumer. It just doesn't make financial sense for them to do it

Well, there was Vioxx, it's estimated it killed well over 50,000 people.. Merck eventually pulled it after it came out that they withheld information about how dangerous it really was. Seems if they cared, they wouldn't have withheld information, and would have pulled it a lot sooner than allowing 60K or more people to die... They made over $2 billion dollars on it in just the year before it was pulled. Not sure how many years it was on the market, but that's a WHOLE lot of money at 2 Billion or more a year.... so um.. no.. no monetary reason to let that go on for so long... It's only after word of their withholding of info got out they realized because of that, they could lose even more money in suits because of their cover-up... It had nothing to do with killing people.
And then there is Darvon and Darvocet. It's killed thousands, and also caused a whole lot of people to end up with serious heart problems... The FDA was asked to look it the drug as far back as 1978 to ban it, and they didn't (if you think FDA isn't in cahoots with the drug companies, think again). They could have prevented thousands of more deaths and heart problems, but the money was too lucrative. They had other drugs to treat pain that were less dangerous, but instead chose to leave it on the market.
This is only a couple of examples.. . Lots of other drugs and medical devices they know cause problems, but they "consider" the risks to be worth it... In other words, "let's weight the income against the chance of law suit, and the payout of a suit"... I've heard these exact conversations happen...
Not saying anything bad about your friend, but expert witnesses make a WHOLE lot of money to do their testifying... I doubt he'd do it for free.....

I think the problem is they are putting these meds out too quickly. Just look at all the law suits on tv these days against pharm comps. I'm always leery when new drugs are first put out.

It would seem if you feel so strongly yourself..you wouldn't work for an industry that does anything for pharmaceutical companies. But again..you probably want the money, huh?

Pretty much it Lisa... I gotta do what I gotta do to pay my bills..
BUT... I am also working to get out of this industry. I've had my fill of it, and I'm sick of seeing everything the corporate world does in the name of money..
Right now we are in the process of buying a farm. (or rather property we will turn into a home farm) In the next year and a half we plan to have the house fixed up and ready to move into. My wife and I both will be leaving the legal industry. We're both fed up with it, and tired of seeing all the corruption we see daily. Not just from the companies that are represented, but what the legal world does for them to twist truths..
I was a mechanic for years, and because of several back surgeries, the state paid for me to go to school for computers. A hobby... First job was the legal industry.. You have NO IDEA how hard it was for me to take that job, and the morals I swallowed... and any more nothing is making the medicine go down...
We will be giving up a very stable future to get away from it... We'll be going to a lot of uncertainty in a fairly impoverished area.
Hopefully that will help you understand how tired I am of seeing what big companies get away with... I'm willing to give up a nice comfy future with nice fat paychecks along with about as good of medical insurance as you can get...

I also see all the time people taking my one of FIL's drugs, that has saved so many lives. And another which had made so many lives better.
There is risk with any endeavor and I also hold suspect, the business men who run any corporations, but the scientists are trying to help people and make a difference. At least the ones that I know.

I'm not saying it's all bad, and I'm glad they are doing things to try and curb STD's too, but it's not always about trying to do good for humanity either... Money and greed is pretty much the root of all evil the way I see it, and as with anything in life, there's plenty of evil to go along with the good...

There are a lot of use who do not take vaccines and never will. I vac'd my kids as early as the medical profession claimed was needed. My son almost died. Twice. After that I waited until they were old enogh to choose and actually were adults. My daughter makes sure her girls get these, and it worries me to no end. This is one of the really unneeded things big pharma pushes...becauseat young ages they might be sexually active and need it...I find this highly sus----ous and would never in any way allow my daughters to have. If it's important they can get it when they are old enough (adults) to do for themselves. At that time maybe more investigating will be done. Thank God, I have no kids in my home to worry over, but I worry for the grands..however, I do not hassle my daughter over it. She knows my views as she asked, then went ahead anyway.

For one, I am leery of new drugs. I prefer to wait until they have been in use for s decade or so.
That said, those links were not valid, scientific evidence. In one article, they counted *suicides*. Kids commit suicide for many, many reasons, very few of which are linked to drugs.
Over 2 million HPV vaccinations have been given. And the worst the Op can come up with is 119 deaths, 800 disabilities, and 500 other problems that some folks believe are linked to the vaccine, out of 2 million? Wow! That actually fewer problems than were associated with the smallpox and polio vaccines that *I* got as a child! That is less than 0.1% of people getting the vaccine having any problems with it! LESS THAN 1/10th of 1%!
In other words, far more people will have health issues and/or die from unknowingly consuming something that rubbed against a peanut when they are allergic to peanuts, than will have any problems with the HPV vaccine.
To give folks an idea of the chances, last year, 24,000 people died.....from being struck by lightening.
