I was supposed to head to Alabama today for my mom's annual County Road 93 yard sale between Haleyville and Double Springs, AL. Unfortunately, rain has delayed my leaving. Looks like I might be able to leave this evening or in the morning though and will be gone all week.
The yard sale is Oct. 5-6 and, if you're near northwest Alabama I urge you to come out. It's a 16 mile yard sale starting at Hwy. 195 and going 16 miles down County Road 93.
There are tons of booths set up at the Pebble Community Center and food is served by the Pebble Volunteer Fire Department. At my mom's house, which is a couple miles down 93 from the community center, we have a wide variety of CHEAP goods.
My brother comes up from Mobile and always has tons of stuff for the men to buy...tools, fishing/hunting equipment, car parts, etc. My Aunt Waneta usually brings live plants, my sister, SIL, nieces, my DIL and I all have good new and used clothing in all sizes for all ages priced extremely low.
We have tons of knick knacks, household/kitchen items, furniture, etc. and there are lots of good old farm stuff (quart jars by the dozens, old "mule driven" plows, etc.) from my parents' farm. We even have some new-in-the-box vintage car body parts for sale this year...stuff we found cleaning out Daddy's sheds.
My Uncle Ivan usually sets up and has lots of fancy girl clothing (from his spoiled granddaughter) and various other items, including his beautiful handmade walking staffs.
Last year one customer told us we were the "Wal Mart of Yard Sales" because we have such a wide variety of items. And, unlike most yard sales, we are open for business from daylight to dark.
I'm going to be in Alabama until the middle of next week so if you get to missing me

come out to the yard sale and say HOWDY! I'll be the chubby lady sitting under the white tent taking everyone's money!
