Does the universe 'mess' with you --

One day last week, I had a day with the "don'ts" as my Grandmother would say. I just couldn't make myself do anything and not doing something at a time like that doesn't make it better.

I have been going through my fabric and sewing stuff with an eye to getting rid of some of it and I'm a accumulator of sewing machines and have 4 here at my sons home. These are all older, but I had actually sewn on 3 of them, so I picked out one and threaded it up - and couldn't get the tension to work. I tried it on another (my favorite) same thing. The other one my husband decided needs a new motor. I kept working with the tension to no avail until I just was so flustered I told my husband I was going to 'sell them all for boat anchors'.

The next morning I decided I wasn't going to sit around, so I got outside to burn trash, pull goatweeds out of the iris bed, then noticed the turnip greens needed picking. I froze turnips greens. Putting things in my freezer always lifts my spirits.

Then my daughter called. We used to talk 2 hours at a time, but she has 2 little girls now 1 and almost 3, so that's impossible now, but any time is wonderful. We talked about books, the babies, her milk cow, etc., etc. It just icing on the cake of my day.

I told my husband I was going to tackle the sewing machines again - sat down at the table and just saw the problem immediately, put the little thingey where it belonged, adjusted the bobbin tension and it just worked right.

Is it sometimes all in your mind - or sometimes are the gods just 'messing' with you?

I have days like that.
It tells me I am stressing (over what I am not always sure) and blinding myself to what is right in front of me.

Sometimes you have to just walk away from a seemingly simple but frustrating problem, and come back later with fresh eyes. Happens to all of us.

No, I wouldn't say the Universe is ever "Messing with Me". And, I try not to "mess with the Universe, mostly.
I do have days when I have to slow down & think things through, to get things right. But my old Doc says that's kinda normal for older folks. I get a bit forgetful on occasion too. I forget folks that have been out here once in awhile. Doc says that's kinda normal too.
I never noticed things like this until I got on the back side of 71 or so......
Maybe he's right. Do You think??
