Every microwave can be fixed. Problem is to find a shop willing to work on it an order the parts. If I had it, I could fix it. My brother was in that business for half of his life and I was with him in it for 7 years. I was mostly involved with commercial types which were definitely not throwaways at $500 to $5,000.
But as Alice said, you don't need the turntable to cook with it. Many types had it so a midway point could be set for the cook to stir and resume cooking. That's about the only thing that the turntable eliminated. In the process, added a second moving part which meant 50% more chance of a failure.
