Back from vacation!

We had a wonderful time in Pigeon Forge. The weather was perfect. I wish I could live in Cades Cove. We are already planning another trip. Hopefully in the spring with the kids. I want them to see everything we did.Absolutely beautiful. We saw a bear while driving through the cove. That was really neat for us as we don't have them around here. So to see one in it's natural habitat was great. I am so glad we took the time to go.

I love Cades Cove too.

I love the place so much that I once was thinking about opening a second business, and I was going to name it "Cades Cove Printing" or "Cades Contract Printing".

I told hubby they should have families living there like they did in the 1800's. That would be neat to see. There was someone grinding cornmeal at the grist mill when we were there. They also had a blacksmith working that day. An older lady was quilting on the porch of the visitor's center. She was from Indiana too!

We didn't get through every cabin as we didn't have enough time. I want to go back & look at everything!!

Everyone's comments about Cades Cove remind me of a funny family story. First, my wife and I have been to GSMNP and cades cove so many times over the years we couldn't count the number. Every time we go, we go around cades cove. Tody, if we were there we could easily spend a day going through the old log structures.

We used to always dream of having our own log cabin while we were going through. The kids of course always were with us from the time they were born and by 6 my son was long experienced in touring the Cades Cove cabins and barns. When we finally bought our farm, we were so excited when we started our log house. My 6 year old son was not nearly so happy at the announcement though. When wife asked him what was wrong, he said hed did not want to live in a log cabin, ever! When she asked him why, he said, "they are little, and dark, and smellish, and have holes in them. It never occured to us that he thought we were building something exactly like we always visited. He was very skeptical about the whole thing until we actually moved in.

My parents go there several times a year. Dad knows all of the good places to see & how to get there. Back roads & time savers too. He invited us along. All we had to pay was our food. He showed us a wonderful time. If we go back with the kids we are taking my parents along again for tour guides!

Glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods
There is a printed tour guide available for only a few bucks that really helps make the Cove come alive for some folks.
