To what depths have we sunk?

Pre-peeled, stretch wrapped bananas.

Pre-Peeled, Re-Wrapped Bananas Are the Most Wasteful Sign of the Apocalypse Yet

Ugh. They would taste like plastic, and how wasteful is that?

Why not? A pre-cut apple sealed in a cellophane bag seems to be popular.

One that has always bamfoozled me is frozen, premade PB and Js.

That sounds awful! I wonder what they put on them so they don't go brown.I was amazed when I saw peeled hard boiled eggs.

They haven't started selling food pre-chewed yet.

That would be pretty convenient.

How lazy would you have to be to by a pre-peeled banana? Same goes for the premade pbj's.

Food is totally different now. And as my grandparents grew older it was baffling to them too. What we are used to now was foreign to them. I wish the trends were different but they are not.

............Looks as if they want to preempt any close inspection by the purchaser ! I've noticed that in W. Mt. they will take the older , UNsold apples and create 5lb. bags that don't lend themselves to inspection , either ! Most consumers will leave the wrapped B's unpurchased is my guess . , fordy

What is really troubling is that there are several different banana slicers available at the link.

I still marvel at the "microwave ready" shrinkwrapped single potatoes.
They were 80 cents each at WM the other day.

i tend to be lazy in the kitchen, and take whatever shortcuts i can, but a pre-peeled banana crossed that line from being a tad lazy to just plain sorry

Oh my gosh! The banana slicer at Amazon has 30 pages of comments, ROFL! And notice the company name? Hutzler, sounds curiously like hustler doesn't it? They've definitely got that part right!

I actually own one of these, i bought it after i got a TON of bananas super cheap and was cutting them up for the dehydrator. I was sick of cutting up bananas pretty quick and being covered with banana goo. So it IS useful, but only if your going to be cutting a LOT of bananas at once. IMO.

What gripes me about this dumd stuff is they are getting big bucks for it, while the poor souls buying it have to work all day in the salt mines to get the money. Easy come _ Easy go

The reviews are a riot!

I have to confess though, that there is one of these gadgets in my cabinet. It came in one of the kids' kitchen sets and the most it did was cause fights on who was going to get to use it.

Pre-peeled bananas will knock out the top spot on my most useless product list if I were to start seeing them in stores regularly. For now it's still the Uncrustable pb&j's.
