utiliity average

I like to run it about once a year.

This is for a 1500 sq ft house over a crawl space, two adults full time, two kids frequently visiting, and a shop.

Includes electricity, gas, water, and sewer (that one is a consistent 27 month as minimum.)

Came in at just a few cents over $189 per month.

Wood heat, swamp cooler, careful to close and open shades, use the clothesline when I can, etc.

my elect runs about 120 per month, all elect house appliances, then my heating with a pellet furnace runs another 200 per month from November until March.I have a septic tank I only have it pumped and inspected every 3 yrs and that costs 190 per 3 yrs.

We are a family of 4 in a 100 yr old 2 story house with basement.

We don't have any water/sewer bills because we're on a well and septic. We are kinda lucky since even though we live in the middle of 40 acres of forest and the nearest neighbor is aobut 1/2 mile away, we have natural gas pipelined to our house.

Our electric bill averages $40 per month and gas anywheres from a low of $25 (summer) to as high as $80 (winter). We do heat half-time with wood during the winter. I suppose an annual average for our utilities would be around $85/mo.

We have 1300sf of upstairs floor space and a 1300sf basement below.

I grew up on septic and we had septic a lot. This $27 monthly for septic drives me nuts, but it is what it is.

Considering we live in a foothills of the mountains town with some of the highest rates in the state, I think we are doing ok. Could do better, but not bad.

water runs around 30 a month... slightly higher in the summer due to watering cattle.
electric 100 or so in the winter as much as 230 in the summer. (keeping the a/c set on "meat locker" doesnt help!)
natural gas for heat and cooking... 0 (gotta love that gas well)
phone, cable and internet 95

Our total utility bill each month is $249.00. We think it is reasonable since we have an old house built in 1883. We've added some insulation and new windows or it would be much worse. It is an all electric house.

House is older home approx 1500+ sq foot. 2 story, nothing extravagant. My Electric bill with 3 Window AC units was $518.00 last month. We keep the temp at about 75 in summer. My water was $120, sewer was $80, gas $20.

Welcome to New Jersey.

Feeling bad for you Mike C. We have a bigger house than yours and also run 3 window A/C's. Keep it about 75* also. But have half the bill. I don't feel to bad now but our rates could be much lower than yours too.

We run about $35 for water, have septic so no sewer. Went to $90 one month this summer when we watered the garden due to drought. Electric runs about $200--$275 even with hanging out clothes to dry & using fans, etc. Our heat & water heater are both electric & we have central air. We keep our thermostat around 75 in summer & about 70 in winter.

We need to get a new, more efficient system soon so maybe we can get it paid for before retirement age. They cost an absolute fortune, though. Don't know how we'll manage.
