Being at the Right Place at the Right Time

Scored 41 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast for 29.00 today at Aldi's. Already canned 6qts. Will finish canning the rest tomorrow. With what we have on the yard to put up this fall and what is in the freezer and then todays bounty should have plenty of chicken...good thing we eat a lot of it.

It does seem like a lot...DH and I both retired the first of July and with the prices going up I hate passing up a good deal. We do eat a lot of chicken and I figured it wont go to waste. Plus when I stock I always keep my parents and my daughter in mind in case SHTF. My parents stock too, so we can combine stockpiles.

We were also able to stock up on beef last week with some great sales, so I think we are in good shape for the winter and early spring or at least until our Jersey steer is ready to go to freezer camp.
