My DW entereed a bar of her soap in the county fair and won a first place sticker. I guess the ribbons cost tooo much now a days. I sure am proud of her efforts.

That's wonderful! I bet you're both very proud. What kind of soap did she enter?

A sticker? Congrats to your daughter but man what a shame she didnt get a ribbon...I can understand money is tight but saving money on the backs of someones achievement is just wrong.

They mail out the ribbons later! Not to fear - they put the stickers on while the fair is in progress then mail out the big winnings along with the ribbons.

Is that your experience with county fairs in KY? I know they do that with the state fair here, but I've never entered in the county fair.

I'm sorry....thought it was the state. For the county fair, (it's been a few yrs,) we got our ribbons right away.... Call the extension office and ask them.....

I have entered both plus lots of local cooking contests and the only one that were mailed later was the state fair.... I read the OP too fast....sorry....

BTW, it's alot of fun to compete in the state - hubby and I enjoyed all of it.

Should there be no ribbon or if they for some reason forget to mail her one, they do sell them for really reasonable prices at most trophy stores.
