I need a hug. And a few gallons of ice please.

NOT having a good day. It didn;t start out so bad but a bit ago while I was in the garden getting ready to wash and sanitize all the planting pots to put away, I miss stepped, my knee bent back, I tried to catch myself with my already injured (stress fractured) ankle, and ended up twisting the good ankle as I fell.

I am NOT happy with myself right now. DH has ordered me into the good chair with my legs propped, everything wraped and pain killers. Everything is hurting right now. Don't know how I'll make it to work tomorrow.

Some days just go that way. You rest up in that comfy chair and let DH wait on you!

Do you have plaintain growing where you are? If so; a poultis made of the leaves is suppose to be amazing applied to sprains and strains (Your right ankle). Also mid last winter we had a power outage with a bad snow storm outside. My daughter sprained her ankle falling in the dark. We thought it might be broke. Didn't have plaintain so we put a poultice of Swedish Bitters on it and wrapped in saran wrap. The next morning she could walk on it; but we made her take it easy. The following day there was no evidence she had ever been injured.

Sounds like you need to call in sick tomorrow. You should probably go to the doctor to make sure you didn't break something else.

I hope you feel better soon!

A bad sprain can take longer to heal than a break. You do need to stay off your feet as much as possible. I know, I know, it's hard but you will be disabled for less time overall if you take the proper care of it now. If you do drag yourself to work tomorrow, use an ace bandage for support and take breaks with feet elevated every chance you get.

Yeah, my knee doesn't hurt this morning, thankfully! but both ankles do, especially the alreayd fractured one.....hurts to even touch it. Wish I could get to the DR. but can't handle the bills on top of everything else so will have to just treat is as I can on my own. Still undecided if I should/ can take the day off from work. My body says yes but my brain says I need to work.

You know......knees aren't supposed to bend backwards and generally when they do the PCL is torn. Ask me how I know. If that happens frequently you need to have it checked out. I had my PCL destroyed in a car accident and it took 6 years to find a surgeon that would fix it, now it is strong and doesn't snap backwards anymore. Just what you wanted to hear, I know!

Yeah, I know, I tore my ACL when I was a teen, took several years to get it surgically fixed, it's been about 15 years since I had the surgery. I can't get it fixed at this time so I just live with it.
