Heat Wave

A blizzard and some winter comfort food sound really good at this point.

For those of you suffering too with these 100 degrees and more days - how are you holding up?

Well, we're doing fine here in Nebraska, other than being bored stiff. Too hot to even go to the lake or pool. I burn very easy and this sun beating down on us is dangerous for me, so inside we stay, in the A/c. Hope there's a break soon. Just looked at the weather for the week, 100s all week. *sigh*

I try to get chores outside done early--and I dont like going anywhere--so OK I guess. Just trying to get the animals and garden thru the heat--and dreading the electric bill!!

I go to my client's the three mornings a week that I have to. I come home and stay inside the ac until about 7:00 at night when I go out and water the garden. I do keep giving our cats water too. We got a pretty good storm last night so I didn't have to water the garden, which is good considering my water bill is almost $100 this month. We are pretty boring here. We watch movies, read, play our instruments and don't go out unless we have to.

We're doing chores early morning and then finishing up some near sundown when it's a little cooler too. Watering the veggie garden and flowers a couple times a day at least. Don't want to lose them! We haven't had rain in forever and I'm really dreading the water bill!

The heat bothers me so much more now that I'm older and some of the new prescription meds I've recently had to start taking don't combine well with the heat. Leaves me feeling downright nauseous and exhausted... We were going to try and go without air conditioning this summer, but with these temps have had to turn it on - doctor's orders! Dreading the electric bill too, but we are thankful we have these luxuries in life where others are suffering without.

Not eating much right now. Just cold salads and sandwiches. I do love to cook though and find myself daydreaming about wintertime baking and those meals I like to have in cold weather.
