Wheres the Mouse thread? with oatmeal?

I read one day, about mixing oats with something to kill mice? seems it constipated them? and I cant find it again. My Daughter in Spf. Mo. is being overran with mice this year. Thanks for any help..

The problem with poisons is that occasionally one will die in a bad place and you'll smell it for a while....traps are pretty inexpensive and usually work well.

Just saw article in Countryside that I got today. They were using a mix of plaster of paris and oatmel. One part plaster of paris to 3 parts oatmel. Shake it well together so the plaster coats all the oatmeal. They said they were using it for ground squirrels but I bet it would work for mice. It constipates them and they die. Just make sure it isn't where any desirable animals could get to it. They said if another animal ate the rodent it wouldn't kill them so it should be safe if, say, a cat found the dead mouse.

Maybe it got mixed in with the thread about how rice thrown at weddings was being consumed by songbirds and causing their stomachs to explode.

I've used the Just One Bite without any problems, though I do occasionally find a dried out mouse laying behind or under things. I've never had any odor problems.

So does tossing pieces of Alka Seltzer instead of popcorn to the seagulls flying overhead.
