Someting Wong

After enjoying a nice meal at a Chinese restaurant, got this fortune in my fortune cookie:

"There are 356 days in a year, may all 365 of your dreams come true."

Huh???

Better than when DD got a fortune that said "Your Troubles Will Soon Pass Away." Unfortunately, her cat was named Troubles.

Oddly...
This is 2012.
It is a leap year.
Leap years normally have 366 days
The Mayan end of the cycle is on Dec 21
December has 31 days.
366 - 10 = 356 days in this year...

If you have a dream every night, then "may all 365 of your dreams come true" has a meaning of "hopefully, the world will exist past Dec. 21."

I'm used to pulling hidden meanings out of things.

Maybe better than GFB's streak of non existent luck w/fortune cookies a few years back. He kept pulling blanks- no fortune or a plain white paper-for about 2 months. We were eating a LOT of chinese food then!
He was getting really disturbed and wondering if he even had a future when we got chinese the next time- the kids and I had normal cookies w/1 fortune but GFB's cookie had 7 different fortunes stuffed in it!

as to Watchers
in Springfield, MO there was a Chineese resturant that was shut down for a while because the Sweet and Sour chicken was in fact Sweet and Sour Cat.

So that wasnt chicken could be right.

And if I did go at the right or wrong time Cat tastes like chicken

Harry -- just how much spare time DO you have on your hands these days?

LOL! Honestly, that response came to me in about 15 seconds.
It was like... 56...hmmm.... hey! this is a leap year...366 days... Solstice is always the 21st...Mayans... Doesn't December have 31 days?.... Wow. it actually works. Type, type, type.
I can often make great mental leaps quickly. My big problem is looking before I leap and aiming so that I don't end up in a mudhole or cesspit at the end of it.

Is that the one that served bright yellow rice and called it fried rice? Nasty food at that one!

I just eat the cookie, I never read the fortune. For some reason that annoys the Dickens out of my wife...............

We always got a strange kick out of adding the words "In bed" to the fortunes.

Dale--that's too funny. There was a chinese restaurant on the corner down the street from the house I grew up in that I ate in nearly every day. Until the day I went in and the health department was just closing the place for the same reason. They later re-opened, it wasn't even very long. Under the same name. The food wasn't as good though. Hmmmm.
