Amazon Free Shipping

Finally I get some benefit from Amazon free shipping.

For years, whatever I needed was a couple of dollars short of the free shipping amount, so I would have to find something else to order to bring the amount up. Amazon has gotten a lot of extra money from me.

But this time, my son ordered spray silicon for the meat grinder and it was a couple of $ short of the free shipping amount. He asked what I needed that would bring the amount up. I told him I needed a silicon rolling pin, and it should cost about $10-$12.

Yes, but the $10 pin got horrible reviews. My son is one who believes in quality tools, so I now have a $40 silicon rolling pin with stainless steel ball bearings on the way....... so that my son could get the free shipping.

That's why we keep a shopping list going there. when we are a few dollars short of the free shipping we pick an item off the shopping list. Then we aren't bumping around the site finding things we don't really need just to get the free shipping.

I like Amazon more and more as I more and more dislike shopping in stores. I can pretty much always bring it up to free shipping.

Great going on the rolling pin. I have no problem whatsoever getting up to Amazon's free shipping! Like Mary, I keep some smaller items in the "buy later" portion of the shopping cart. I also get a lot of groceries from Amazon on their auto ship program and save 15% over their prices which are usually lower than I could get around here anyway.

I got the Prime membership with free 2 day shipping. Its $79 a year, which in our situation I could justify. We do not live near any family members. I did all of my Christmas shopping on Amazon this year, and shipped the presents directly to each person in separate orders. I figure that the membership cost is what I would have spent in packing and shipping the presents. The rest of our year's worth of shipping will be free- including next Christmas'

I have already taken advantage multiple times. If it isn't something that I need right this minute and requires me to spend gas going out of my route to get it, then I check the price on Amazon. In general, I have found the items to be the same price as the brick and mortar big box store, so I just order it and get it delivered right to my door without having to waste my gas or time. Bonus is my kids get really excited because we keep getting all these packages delivered. I let them wonder for a while before we open it and find out what it is I realized I needed a specific book to go with a lesson I was teaching. The local libraries didn't have it, so I ordered it, paid $4, and had it shipped to my classroom- no muss, fuss, or worries!

I also keep several things in my cart until I can get over the $25 for free shipping. I love Amazon, and buy lots of stuff from them every year. I also take advantage of the 15% discount on some "Subscribe & Save" things I have delivered on a regular schedule. Plus Amazon has a really great refund/replacement policy if something arrives broken or spoiled.

I love Amazon's free shipping. I won't shop with online stores where the shipping charges increase as your shopping cart total increases.

We have AMAZON PRIME as well. I have cut my trips to the city( 2 hours each way) down to twice a year by using it. The prices are almost always better and the selection as well. I also buy a lot through "Subscribe & Save". My husband loves that I don't drag him to the city for shopping every month.
